Music-Prod Make a Deep House Remix Track in Logic Pro X TUTORIAL

Music-Prod Make a Deep House Remix Track in Logic Pro X TUTORIAL

Do you want to create music that has the same quality as the big producers in the Deep House genre?

Do you struggle to lay out ideas and to get inspiration quickly for your Deep House track?

Are you running in to writers block easily these days? Then this course is for you!

Welcome to this course where I will learn you how to create a Deep House Track in Logic Pro X. In this course – you will learn how to create a “modern” Deep House track fast and how to get ideas quickly. We will remix a popular track from Calvin Harris and remake it from scratch into a Deep House track. In just a few hours you will learn how to overcome writers block and arrange your track fast.

I have produced electronic music ever since I met DJ’s like Avicii, Alesso or Otto Knows (they actually went to the same High School as me in Stockholm, Sweden) and that is for a long time – over 10 years now – and a few years ago I got to a point where I couldn’t get past writers block and I didn’t know what to produce anymore.

The genre “Electronic Music” started to get generic and after a while the style got slower in tempo – from 128BPM to 110BPM and even slower. After trying to experiment with tempo and different style I became a lot more inspired to create music again.

A whole new world opened up to me.

I just wish that someone would tell me how to do these different tricks and how to experiment without thinking so much about whats wrong and what right. This course will help you a lot – take it as a guideline at the same time as creating a track that is “Modern”.

First we’re going over how to create an initial idea and just getting in to an creative stage where we just throw in different sounds that we like and without thinking about any rule at all. There is no rules when you are creative – that way it is easier to get your own unique sound instead of just copying every other producers music styles.

After that we are going to arrange our track and cleaning up the project. I like arranging my track as soon as I have a proper idea laid out in Logic Pro X. That way it is a lot easier to see what kind of sound you need to add in, like FX and different transitional elements to make your track stand out and sound professional as well as not sounding static and robotic – since this is electronic music.

When we are done creating our track and adding all sounds that we both need and that we want to have there we want to create a proper mixdown and master our track so it sounds great on every sound system there is. We want to have our track to sound great on both car stereos, our iPhone’s and on a big club sound system as well.

So let’s see you in the course 🙂

Mad Lab Audio Mad Zachs Lab Deep House WAV MIDI ALP

Beatport Sounds and Mad Lab Audio proudly present Mad Zach’s Lab: Deep House

In this truly epic release you’ll find only the most thoughtfully crafted sounds, instruments, and creative deep house musical ideas, expertly tuned by the ears of a master.

Much more than just a sound pack, here’s some of what you’ll find in your download:

Fully pimped out production and performance template for Ableton with all sounds and instruments built in – no third party plugins required.

A complete arsenal of raw analog and classic tones – all sampled at clean 24bit resolution from gear like the TR-909, Juno 106, Moogerfoogers, even a rare British tube channel strip – just to name a few.

4 fully crafted, amazing sounding demo songs (made exclusively with the template) – which can be picked apart and analyzed for remixing, learning, or just having fun.

Deep custom drum racks – with macro’s set up to control the tone of all your essential sounds easily.

Dynamic analog sample instruments – All the instruments in the pack were created by sampling raw waveforms from vintage analog synthesizers, and dropping them into samplers with full macro controls over all your most important synthesis parameters.

20 forward-thinking drum and percussion sketches – provided as part-separated audio/midi files, as well as from within Ableton for complete tonal control and pattern manipulation.

7 insanely funky built in grooves, which have been meticulously extracted from the original 909 shuffles. This IS the swing for house. You can throw these grooves on any midi or audio clip.

Inspiring clip grid loaded with 66 drum and 53 percussion loops organized into 10 separate idea clusters each with sets of loops for, bass, synth, mood, and other sounds.

Mood and vocal sounds – loaded into their own rack with custom eq/effects macro’s.

Built in mixing with specialized routing, side-chain compression, custom effects racks, and tone macro’s.

Every element of the deep house style is covered – of course with a Mad Zach twist 🙂 – from 909 heavy drums, to classic and forward thinking bass, supple pads, saw square and saw rooted synths, dusty mood samples, vocal chops, and a super powerful percussion rack.

All the loops come as midi clips with their own built-in drum racks and sample instruments. This means no loop is stagnant, as each and every sound can be easily tweaked, swapped, automated or rearranged.

In the download you’ll also find a folder stocked with all the one shots in high quality 24 bit WAV format, as well as audio loops from the main 4 demo songs. For the one shots the pack’s built in custom drum racks were dialed to create every possible variation of each sound.

Contains:

  • 154 – banging kicks and bass drums
  • 78 – clap variations
  • 65 – dusty open hats
  • 64 – unique percussion hits
  • 49 – heavy mood and vocal chop samples
  • 39 – shakers
  • 37 – snares of different styles
  • 31 – character rich closed hats
  • 30 – other critical drum sounds, like toms, rims, even a dynamic tambourine
  • 15 – thunderous sub notes
  • 11 – pumping sub stabs
  • 8 – trippy atmospheres recorded from spaces around the world

This is the ultimate deep house production playground. Have fun 🙂

The Oxford Handbook of Music & Queerness

The Oxford Handbook of Music & Queerness PDF

Music and queerness interact in many different ways. The Oxford Handbook of Music and Queerness brings together many topics and scholarly disciplines, reflecting the diversity of current research and methodology. Each of the book’s six sections exemplifies a particular rhetoric of queer music studies. The section “Kinds of Music” explores queer interactions with specific musics such as EDM, hip hop, and country.

“Versions” explores queer meanings that emerge in the creation of a version of a pre-existing text, for instance in musical settings of Biblical texts or practices of karaoke. “Voices and Sounds” turns in various ways to the materiality of music and sound. “Lives” focuses on interactions of people’s lives with music and queerness. “Histories” addresses moments in the past, beginning with times when present conceptualizations of sexuality had not yet developed and moving to cases studies of more recent history, including the creation of pop songs in response to HIV/AIDS
and the Eurovision song contest. The final section, “Cross-cultural Queerness,” asks how to understand gender and sexuality in locations where recent Euro-American concepts may not be appropriate.

The Oxford Handbook of Music & Intellectual Culture in the Nineteenth Century

The Oxford Handbook of Music & Intellectual Culture in the Nineteenth Century

The Oxford Handbook of Music & Intellectual Culture in the Nineteenth Century

Rarely studied in their own right, writings about music are often viewed as merely supplemental to understanding music itself. Yet in the nineteenth century, scholarly interest in music flourished in fields as disparate as philosophy and natural science, dramatically shifting the relationship between music and the academy.

An exciting and much-needed new volume, The Oxford Handbook of Music and Intellectual Culture in the Nineteenth Century draws deserved attention to the people and institutions of this period who worked to produce these writings. Editors Paul Watt, Sarah Collins, and Michael Allis, along with an international slate of contributors, discuss music’s fascinating and unexpected interactions with debates about evolution, the scientific method, psychology, exoticism, gender, and the divide between high and low culture.

Part I of the handbook establishes the historical context for the intellectual world of the period, including the significant genres and disciplines of its music literature, while Part II focuses on the century’s institutions and networks – from journalists to monasteries – that circulated ideas about music throughout the world. Finally, Part III assesses how the music research of the period reverberates in the present, connecting studies in aestheticism, cosmopolitanism, and intertextuality to their nineteenth-century origins.

The Handbook challenges Western music history’s traditionally sole focus on musical work by treating writings about music as valuable cultural artifacts in themselves. Engaging and comprehensive, The Oxford Handbook of Music and Intellectual Culture in the Nineteenth Century brings together a wealth of new interdisciplinary research into this critical area of study.
