Moment found at sea, a 4evr moment WAV

A staple name in underground rap production for years now, the New York-based, Minneapolis-born producer 4evr has been steadily saturating the Soundcloud scene with his knack for nostalgic, euphoric melodies since he began producing in 2015. The Garden Ave member has produced for Black Kray, Wicca Phase, Sofaygo, Snow Strippers and countless others, and this year released the solo album ‘Momentary Repair’ via Surf Gang Records, steering his pearlescent production palette further into trance, witch house, and Rustie-era instrumental territories.

Though numerous 4evr kits have traded hands across the internet in the past, ‘found at sea’ is a fresh, originally synthesized and more all-encompassing delve into 4evr’s sound than ever heard before. Bright frequencies shine across vast open waters of bittersweet melodies and crisp digital waves. The pack’s glittering drums and game-inspired FX feel equally at home in an upbeat DJ tool as in a trap beat, it’s a universal navigation tool for any course you choose to chart. When asked about his process making the pack, 4evr only told us “I can’t change the direction of the winds, but I can adjust my sails.”

Montage by Splice Dark Spirits: Amazon Rhythms WAV

After years of living and recording in the Amazon region of Brazil, composer and sound designer Antonio Teoli has partnered with Splice for a unique and experimental new library, Dark Spirits: Amazon Rhythms. Known for his impressive sound library The Amazonic, which is home to a treasure trove of instruments from the jungle, Teoli takes this project even deeper into the distinctive sounds of the Amazon, this time focusing on sounds that evoke mysterious, dark, and intriguing atmospheres.

Many of these instruments in this pack naturally produce sounds that are ready-made for cinematic productions. Instruments like the ZogZog, Chorona, and Tambor Celeste possess an eerie, otherworldly quality. Meanwhile, percussion instruments such as the Tracajá, Alfaia, and Bumbo Leguero invoke a deeply resonant heartbeat. When you explore the processed versions, which were created using a mix of pedals, synthesizers, and plugins, you’ll experience an amplified, darker, and more otherworldly soundscape. Each recording session was a genuine performance, with real-time manipulation of effects and twisting a lot of knobs, resulting in truly unique sounds.

The large majority of these sounds were played by masters João Paulo and Celdo Braga, who not only performed for the pack but created many of these incredible instruments by hand. Natives of the Amazon, their inspiration transcends traditional instruments, extending to creations that replicate the sounds they grew up hearing in the forest – even using them to communicate with birds!
