Kingsway Music Library Máté Vol.1 (Compositions & Stems) [WAV]
Máté is a new addition to the Kingsway family and the Los Angeles based producer has crafted a collection of samples that show off a real consciousness for music and sounds from a higher plain. Using strings, pianos, guitars, a mixture of analog and soft synths, along with experimental effects and techniques, each piece transports the listener to a different pocket of time with each track – sometimes reminiscent of gritty, buried music from the 20s and 30s, sometimes foretelling of futuristic sounds and tones.
While relatively new to the music scene, Máté’s approach is mature and thoughtful and his execution is impeccable. His first volume will serve as a strong entry into the library, and an exciting preview of what’s to come from him.
New York-based, Monterrey-born producer Debit filters her multinational experience through an experimental reframing of Latin American culture and avant-garde electronics. Evoking a migratory existence and a new generation of cyber-punk aesthetics, Interzones echoes the tangled polyrhythms and disjointed Reggaeton of her productions for NAAFI and mixes for FADER and FACT.
Swarming circuity and rattling percussion comprise the bulk of this Rubicon offering, while alien choirs and baroque melodies provide contrast. Analog was embraced with a digital sheen in the creation of these samples, designed with a Roland GAIA, Dave Smith Tempest, Buchla, and Sound Toys plugin suite. Sure to satisfy and/or offend depending on your persuasion, Interzones is made for those working across boundaries.
Kingsway Music Library Quin Kiu Vol.1 (Compositions & Stems) [WAV]
Toronto-based producer/composer Quin Kiu has appeared as a guest on some Kingsway volumes, most notably on the Waves sample “W1 Q” which was placed on Lil Mosey’s track “Rockstars” last year.
Since then, he has spent the last few months digging into his own volume, using his skills as an instrumentalist to craft a library that is rife with guitars, violins, pianos, Rhodes, synths and all manner of digitally manipulated field recordings.
The result is an experimental and heady collection of music, densely packed with emotive and expressive layers. These will keep you busy and inspired throughout these times of isolation.
Gio Israel Flamenco Essentials Percussion Vol. 2 [WAV Beatmaker Presets]
Flamenco Essentials by Gio Israel aims to amplify the unique magic of Flamenco music. Recorded in Cordoba, Spain by some of the world’s leading Flamenco musicians, this new collection is an accumulation of over 70 studio hours. “Years ago, on one of my tours as a DJ, I was welcomed for the first time at Triana, the Gypsy quarter of Seville, Spain and birthplace of Flamenco. I immediately fell in love with the people, tastes, sounds and vibe that resonated from every part of this small neighborhood.
Walking its streets, music echoed from every wall. At that moment, I understood Flamenco is much more than music, it’s a lifestyle.” The roots of flamenco, though somewhat mysterious, seem to lie in the Gypsy migration from Rajasthan (in northwest India) to Spain between the 9th and 14th centuries.
These migrants brought with them musical instruments, such as tambourines, bells, and wooden castanets, and an extensive repertoire of song and dance. In Spain they encountered the rich cultures of the Sephardic Jews and Moors. Commonly associated with the Andalusian region of southern Spain, their centuries-long cultural intermingling produced the unique art form known as Flamenco. Production Process
In September 2021 my brother and I got on a plane to a special mission. Our goal was to explore the beauty of Namibia with a Toyota Hilux truck and to collect as many impressions as possible. During our Roadtrip we drove more 4600 Km, visited 13 stops in 21 days. Back in our studio in Germany we reflected on the Roadtrip and created an instrumental for every place we had traveled to. The basis was provided by african-inspired guitar ideas and field recordings that we underlaid with classic rhythms and patterns. Further instruments were added and specially recorded vocals completed the songs at the end. All individual parts can be found in the pack and can be re-flipped, cut or reversed as desired in order to realise new musical ideas.

Bass, presets and MIDI – tailored for that classic 1960s vintage sound.
THE SIXTIES EBX – A POP POWERHOUSE
Bass, presets and MIDI – tailored for that classic 1960s vintage sound.
This expansion for EZbass sets out to capture one of the most iconic and defining epochs in popular music history: the sixties. It includes the vibe, the sound and the very bass model whose characteristically tubby, dark and earthy thud played a leading role in its soundtrack. Arguably, no other instrument paints a more vividly compelling image of an era come and gone than this – sonically and visually.
The bass was strung with classic flatwound strings and captured using two distinctly different playing styles, one using the finger and one palm muted using a pick. This gives you two contrasting takes on the same instrument and a tonal range covering the entire width from the traditionally thud-like to the sharp and zingy. In addition to the bass, this EBX also includes a wealth of presets for a wide range of tones as well as a custom library of MIDI basslines tailored for the instrument and the era in question.
Ready to head back to the sixties:
A meticulously captured classic violin-style electric bass from the early 1960s
Inspired by the characteristic sixties sound and scene
Ideal for anything from subtle and acoustic music to full-on pop and rock setups
Includes a classic finger playing style as well as a palm muted option sampled with a pick
Offering a range from D1 to E4
Includes a collection of presets covering a broad range of tones inspired by the era
Comes with a custom MIDI library tailored for the instrument
THE INSTRUMENT
The bass that changed the face of pop.
When Walter Höfner* introduced the first edition of the 500/1 Violin Bass* at the Frankfurt Musikmesse in 1956, little did he know that his hollow-bodied, short-scale and, quite frankly, peculiar-looking creation would come to change the course of music history. But indeed, only years later up in in Liverpool, England, the uniquely tubby, dark and earthy notes struck on this very model quickly echoed across the continents and resound just as vividly to this day. Frankly, no other model of bass is more iconic – visually or sonically.
Seemingly based on an idea of creating an instrument that was appealing to players of upright basses fed up with hauling a six feet colossus to gigs, this was the first of its kind: an electric bass with the inherent qualities of an acoustic – and vice versa.
Although it’s undergone numerous changes and remakes since its first rendition in 1956, the iconic hollow spruce top body has remained virtually unchanged. And make no mistake, this featherlight marvel surely carries its weight in tone.
“Capturing a rare gem like this for our line of EZbass expansions was a given on so many levels – for its unique tone just as much for the sake of its place in music culture and songwriting at large. I can’t think of a more identifiable bass tone or a more fitting instrument to attach the word icon to. This is more than a bass, it’s a piece of history,” comments Ulf Edlund, EZbass lead sound designer.
THE EIGHTIES EBX – BACK TO THE EIGHTIES
An EBX that merges electric and electronic, just like the eighties!
Much like the decade itself, The Eighties EBX is a merge of electric and electronic. It comes with two individual instruments, one high-end electric bass guitar as well as one classic analog synthesizer, each handpicked for their individual qualities and overall influence on the music of the time.
In addition to the instruments themselves, The Eighties EBX also includes a wealth of presets for a wide range of tones as well as a custom library of MIDI, allowing you to start writing and producing from the get-go.
If you’re looking for the ultimate palette of ’80s-like bass tones designed to work in anything from pop and rock to all-electronic new wave or synth pop, this is it. Welcome to your new go-to EZbass expansion!
Two instruments: one high-end electric bass guitar and one synth bass based on an iconic analog synthesizer
Inspired by the sound and music of the ’80s
Ideal for anything from vintage to modern-sounding pop, rock and electronic productions
Electric bass sampled with finger and pick options
Synth bass features up to three user-controllable oscillators for each preset
Both instruments offer a range from A0 to E4
Includes a wealth of presets for a wide range of ’80s-inspired tones
Includes a collection of MIDI tailored for each instrument
THE INSTRUMENTS
When looking to provide the two essential session staples that could encapsulate the sound of ’80s bass, the choice was easy: the Wal Mk1* and the iconic Minimoog Model D.*
The ultimate bass guitar.
From the outset back in the late ’70s, Wal’s ambition was as simple as it was bold: to build the ultimate session player instrument. In order to accomplish this, the then-small team designed virtually every component that went into it from the ground up, involving top players and producers in the process. In 1980, the first 20 prototype custom basses were made available, now known as the Mk1 (which is the same model as sampled for this EBX). In the years to come, the popularity of the brand grew and the Wal bass became a mainstay in the UK session circuit and around the world.
Although the first Wals surfaced more than some forty years ago, still to this day each and every bass that leaves the shop is produced with the same luthier ethos and scrutiny.
The synth that changed everything.
In an effort of offering an affordable and portable option of a modular synth, the Minimoog* was launched in the 1970s. In terms of synthesizers, the impact it had on music on a whole is unparalleled. Seeping through to virtually every facet and style, it became a lynchpin in the development in anything from funk to hip-hop and would even later come to lay the groundwork for altogether new genres. Aside from the fact that it was portable and that artists were able to finally bring the keyboard out of the studio and to the stage, the thing with the Minimoog was that it could carry a melody just as well as it could serve as the backbone of the rhythm section. Indeed, it was just as much a bass as it was a keyboard – a fact underlined in countless songs during the era when it perhaps made its most famed contributions: the eighties.
The instrument in question for this EBX is a completely restored, recapped and calibrated Minimoog* Model D Rev. 2 from 1976. Simply put, it’s a piece of history – sampled and tweaked to virtually scream eighties bass in every fabric of its being.
This is not your typical acoustic guitar library. The RCD Acoustic was conceptualized around experimental, rhythmic playing styles commonly associated with modern film score and features highly realistic ‘repetition sourced’ recordings.
Featuring a vintage Martin acoustic guitar, we used many different bows, sticks, brushes, and picks (with both traditional and low tuning) to capture a massive collection of tonal and atonal sounds.
Reps
The reps patches were sampled from true repetition-based performances and include up to 10 round Robin. This unique sampling technique includes all of the sonic information pre-transient and between consecutive notes which results in a more fluid, energetic playback.
Riffs
The riffs patches include energetic phrases and loops which were sampled across the range of the guitar. They sync to the host tempo by default and can be switched to half or double time within the user interface. In conjunction with the reps, you can create highly realistic rhythmic beds.
Sustains
In addition to the rhythmic-based recordings, we also captured a large collection of sustains using bowing techniques and picked tremolos. These can be particularly useful for creating textural ambiance, pads, and soundscapes.
Sculpt your sound
We included over 30 fully produced multis or ‘presets’ made up of arps, pads, cue starters, loops, and fx.
The user interface features advanced sound-shaping controls, built-in humanization, and a powerful sequencer with dynamic modulation to control the step velocity in real time via midi CC or modwheel.
