We spent two full days at the beautiful Altamira Sound studio in Los Angeles, capturing a wide range of Kirsten’s (our co-founder) deeply personal, evolving, and expressive solo vocal textures—sounds she regularly uses in her own work.
Our goal was to stay true to Kirsten’s artistic identity as a singer and composer, capturing vocals that feel intimate, emotional, and perfectly at home in cinematic soundscapes.
These recordings were carefully transformed into playable, expressive textures—designed to inspire in performance just as much as they did during the recording process.
The result is a highly personal and expressive instrument that adds a delicately powerful depth to music, bringing compositions to life in an organic, human way.
We had an incredible time recording at Altamira Sound in Los Angeles with the brilliant engineer James Riotto.
James has worked with and recorded influential artists such as Jamie xx, Dirty Projectors, The Mountain Goats, Alex Cameron, and many more.
We wanted to share a thoughtfully curated collection of vocal sounds created by Kirsten—textures she frequently uses in her own music.
Her unique approach to vocal expression and texture-building, combined with her voice appearing across numerous albums and productions, inspired us to make these sounds available to other producers and composers.
We couldn’t find any libraries that sound like this, so we set out to create a deeply personal instrument that’s easy to use, yet rich in human, expressive character—subtle, emotional, and powerful.
