Cinematic Treatments explores the space between an instrument and its surroundings, giving the sounds you already use a different scale, surface and character.

Cinematic Treatments is a collection of 100 FX Rack presets for Spectrasonics Omnisphere 3, arranged into five categories with 20 presets each. Its palette extends from expansive reverberant spaces and resonating materials to damaged echoes, spectral transformations, textural drones and intimate, unusual rooms.

Use the presets inside Omnisphere to reshape its instruments, or load the dedicated FX Rack plug-in in your DAW to process other instruments and audio recordings. Piano, guitar, mallets, percussion, voices and synthesizers each bring different details into the treatment. The source, register and phrasing remain part of the sound design.

A short note can reveal the character of a room. A sustained tone can build a moving texture. Leave space after a phrase to hear its reflections, or record a longer passage and use the resulting swells and fragments in your arrangement.

Enormous Spaces

Scale, distance and lingering reflections. Expansive treatments give sparse notes and open chords room to develop, turning the space around an instrument into part of the composition.

Resonating Materials

Ringing bodies, metallic colors and unfamiliar surfaces. Plucked strings, mallets and short percussion bring out the relationship between the source attack and the resonance it excites.

Ruined Atmospheres

Worn textures, imperfect echoes and traces of memory. Give a melody, voice or restrained rhythm an aged character, or use its processed fragments to build a background atmosphere.

Spectral Landscapes

Shifting timbres, unfamiliar voices and displaced harmonics. Explore how simple notes, open intervals and richer sources reveal different details within the same treatment.

Impossible Worlds

Textural drones and imagined acoustics. This category moves between sustained environments and small, strange rooms, with enclosed spaces and unusual reflections alongside broader textures.

Designed for cinematic composition, ambient music and experimental sound design. Adjust the overall mix to place a treatment behind the original sound, or bring the processing forward and let it become the focus. Each rack remains editable within Omnisphere’s native effects system.

How to install
In Serum, click Menu (top right) then Open Serum Presets folder. Copy the downloaded presets into the Presets > User folder. Close and reopen Serum to refresh the plugin. Go to the Menu bar and select “Rescan Folders on Disk” to load in the new presets.
